I run the Tailgater with my RV and when I return home I connect my 211K to a 1000.2 fixed dish to keep my 211K software up to date.
On occasion I would have to clear the check switch setting when connecting to the Tailgater upon arrival to my RV destination. To do this I would run a check switch test with no antenna attached then save setting upon finding no dish, attach Tailgater and run test again to establish connection to Tailgater.
The only time my 2121K is not connected to 110 power is when traveling to or from RV destinations.
