I've owned the Tailgater for well over a year now. I treat it roughly, I never bother to disconnect it before moving it (never heard of an issue with this), I leave it sitting out in 100 degree heat and cold nights in the teens. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE TAILGATER.
IMO the $350 is well spent if you value simplicity and ease of use, as I do. I just don't have the patience to aim the $100 open sat dish, so it's the Tailgater or nothing for me. Reception is good, durability is good, and it is remarkably easy to use.
I notice the OP got a response within 9 minutes of posting about a "Tailgater", and that the response was obliquely negative. This same Forum member has posted negative comments on most "Tailgater" threads that I've read, and yet doesn't own a Tailgater, or ANY dome antenna, according to their own posts.
No evedence even that they own a television, but they sure seem to harbor a grudge against the Tailgater.
