Some more data from 2018 01 08

Ping without booster was a whopping 683 ms. With, about 40 ms

Download speed 40. With Boost 1.08

Upload speed 0.01. With boost 0.63

So the biggest difference was in ping.

I think this is the confusion. By your format (which BTW is part of the primary key on most of our database tables) you will be in Gold Head State Park on June 1st of this year. :)

yyyymmdd is the format. If I wish to extract data for February I do a search for 201802.

The 'standard' kind of computer sorting that I'm familiar with (numerical) would not lend itself to sorting that kind of date format. Either the month should come before the day, (20180106), or the sorting algorithm would have to look at the first 4 bytes, then the last 2, then the middle two.

For instance, in the format you show, 20182601 (Jan 26) would be 'larger' than 20181503 (Mar 15). I'm sure this is all moot and academic as your program handles it just fine.

I use that format on a plain flat file database called File Express because it is so convenient to sort.

It is a mix. Should be consistent MSD/LSD or reverse.
Either 20180106 or 06012018, I used to have a job where I had to search for reports by date a lot and the former worked better than anything else.
