TPO Mobile. Anyone use them?

They are a bring your own phone carrier and are certainly cheap. I'm looking to change since I have a broken phone and AT&T doesn't care to make a deal, so I'm down to this carrier and buying a phone of some sort, or going to Sprint, who's offering me a nice deal but drops calls down a frequently traveled route. Anyone have experience with TPO mobile? Their rates are extremely attractive.

  • I also have a backup Nokia smartphone, bought it for its incredible camera, on H20 Wireless. They have both monthly and PAYGO per minute plans, as low as $10. for 3 months. You might want to check them out if you need AT&T.
  • I am looking at US Mobile so far I have not heard anything bad about them, no contract and you can purchase only what you need
  • If you live and STAY in a major metropolitan area an off brand will be okay. This is due to the fact that the towers are owned by Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint other "carriers" are basically leasing from them.
So it will depend on who TPO Mobile buys from.
TPO website states; "BYOD program requires an eligible GSM device or a Sprint approved device."
So it looks like they use the Sprint network
  • UK based MVNO TPO, "The People's Operator", uses the Sprint and T-Mobile networks in the US depending on which phone you have. The company has been running at an increasing loss since it's founding, and the stock price has pretty much tanked with a 90% price drop since the late 2014 IPO. All in all, TPO would not be my choice for reliable, stable phone service.
  • Chances are if the rates are attractive the service won't be.
