Turbo tax admits their mistake!!

Hummm. Maybe they'll get it all fixed up by the time we download the product in a few weeks.

What were the changes, that made many un-happy?

I use the software, but have not purchased this year's version yet.

I just use the online version. Have used it for the past three years with no problem. And next year, I just log in and there is all my stuff I need.

I have been using Taxcut for several years. Good product. Never did try Turbotax.

They eliminated the small business / home business forms from their cheaper products, forcing you to buy those forms as extra-cost add ons. They also eliminated the investment / retirement income forms, making you pay extra for those as well.

Good to hear they have reversed that decision. I've been a long time user and was dreading learning another product

I just E-FIled using the on-line product.. I still have to send 20 bucks to governor Snidly Wiplash,,er, Snyder,, Er, Michigan. but I get money back from the feds.. Based on my reading of the tax laws,, software worked.

I do a simple return.. 1040A is needed though since all my income is 1099s

As I recall the problem was that they moved some features from one level of the product up a level. They did not tell anybody so people bought the same version as they did last year but found out that they couldn't do their taxes.

OP here, sorry I did not explain the problem well. The above quote pretty much sums it up. I my case it would require me to buy the Premier edition, for just a couple of forms, instead of the Deluxe edition that I normally use.

I had heard before that if you fussed enough they would upgrade you for free. I guess the frying pan got so hot they decided they better try and save their customer base. Glad they did. Love the program.
