TV-2 TV's but can only watch one show

If you have only one receiver (DVR or not) then you can only watch one channel. If you want to watch 2 different channels on 2 different TV's you will need 2 different receivers.

Switch to DISH. We did about a month ago and very happy. We have one receiver in the house that supports two televisions, each independently with 2 remotes. The same receiver is tethered to a 3rd television. The TV in the master bedroom and bathroom are on the same channel. The one in the living room is on a different channel.

We have 2 more receivers, each with only 1 TV. But we take one of those in the camper with us, and the service guys hooked us up with a tripod and dish for the camper. The receiver can go back and forth from the camper to the house. It works very sweet. But only 1 TV in the camper.

To answer your question about Direct TV. It all depends upon your receiver, how it functions, if you get 2 independent stations or not. We switched from Direct to Dish. No complaints (yet).

You need either SWM and 2 separate receivers/DVRS, or 2 separate cables from the antenna to 2 separate receivers/DVRs, then each TV is hooked to one of the receivers.

Don't get confused by SWM. If you want to watch 2 different channels on 2 different TV's you need 2 different receivers.

And 2 different cables run to the antenna.

Not completely true. Dish has a diplexer that will take the 2 dish connections on the back of the dvr's with dual receivers and allow you to run one cable to the dish. It comes as part of the package with the receiver. The setup works with the dish pro plus antenna. This is the setup I have for my RV and at home.
