TV ant. Probleem

That little switch on the wall plate turns the power on and off to the amplifier. It also switches the coax between the antenna and the cable connection. There is some chance that the switch or wall plate is faulty.

You said you bypassed the "Box full of buttons" (I call it a BOMB (Box of many buttons))

Do you ALSO have a wall plate with the switch and the light?

That box. (if you do not have the wall plate) is ..... oh, you said you checked and have voltage to the head. Sorry, disregard.

Was the campground cable Analog or Digital? There are 2 completely separate tuners. Any chance you can find a small portable digital TV? Otherwise, I would start with a new antenna head. Unbox it carefully and return it if that's not the problem.

Neighbor is getting 11 channels

I have substituted the co-ax from the power supply to the TV (no change)

I'm thinking that the TV tuner is OK, as I had no problem switching between channels at our last location.day before yesterday,while hooked up to cable TV

The TV is digital and I am selecting "antenna" input.

Scanned for channels (several times), none picked up.

The co-ax input on the TV is the same for either cable or antenna. Input to that connection is through the "box full of buttons". I have tried bypassing that box, no help there.

Sounds like the head is bad but unless you are truly in the middle of nowhere your TV should be picking up at least a channel or 2. If the cable connection passes properly to the TV when the power button is off then the wiring between the power supply and the TV is also good. The other (slim) possibility is that the TV tuner has gone bad. This, of course, assumes that you have a digital capable TV and not the older tube type TV. When you scan for channels does it show digital AND analog channels scanned?

I was wrong in referring to the power supply as the amp I should have known better.

Back to the problem. I do have the Winegard Batwing.

I checked for the 12 vdc art the ant head,13+ volts.

I have bypassed the "box full of buttons" selector box and connected the ant co-ax from the PS directly to the TV input. TV input set to "ant", and still see "NO SIGNAL" the screen.

I have not done any recent changes or projects having to do with the TV co-ax hookups.
When previously (yesterday) hooked up to the parks cable system, all was OK. As was the Sat dish connections. We have sense changed locations by several hundred miles.

While the above posters are exactly correct, my post was based on the assumption that you were looking to by-pass the inside power supply which most folks refer to as the amp since it does turn the amp on and off.
Hopefully, that's what you are looking to see and trouble-shoot.

I doubt you can bypass the amp. It is located in the antenna.. I might be able to bypass it but I'd have to study it first.

The device inside the RV is only the power supply for the amp, and of course the switch.

Suspect list if it's not working right
COAX First the length above the roof, then the fitting in the roof.

Next is the antenna and power supply/switch.

However I really like the idea of upgrading that switch/supply to the Sensar Pro.. way better.

Remember that in nearly every type of RV antenna, the amp is in the antenna head, not in the wall plate, which is just a power supply.
IOW, you really cannot bypass the amp unless you want to take the antenna apart.

What antenna do you have and what is the problem? I wrote a bit about tuning up the Winegard Batwing- you can find it here.

By-passing the amp will make the antenna nearly useless unless you are very close to the TV tower(s). It would be better (if possible) to go on the roof with a voltage meter, disconnect the coax from the head of the antenna and then measure the voltage in the coax itself to verify that you have at least 12VDC available. If you do not the problem is inside and if you do the likely problem is the antenna head.
This, of course, assumes the wiring between the amp and the TV is all good. It assumes the TV was working, no work was done in the area and now it's not working.
