  • Just bought a Visio D24hn-D1. Amazing 24" LED edge lit TV , great tuner. The best picture ever. 18 watts.

    $119.95 free shipping.

Sony has pretty good sound, others not so much. And the cheaper you get the worse the sound is.

You may have to get a PC speaker setup and hook that up. I'd do the inverter thing so you'll have the most choices.
  • We started out with a small TV that could run off of 12v. Then moved up to a larger TV/DVD combo that I converted to 12v. Then we got a satellite receiver that required a inverter for 120v so we also used that for the TV. The first year we used a small 150w inverter just for them, last year I left the big inverter on and plugged them into the wall.

The one thing true for any option is you need the battery to provide the power and a means to replace it.
  • Stop!
If you buy a TV with a external transformer it is most likely a 12 volt in disguise.
The giveaway is the puck like device on the power cord that looks very similar to a laptop cord.
Read the voltage on the transformer dollars to donuts is will be 12 volt out.
    Just buy a cord.
The last I knew the insignia brand at Best Buy and the Sceptre brand at Walmart are both 12 volt in disguise.
All you would need to buy is a 12 volt cord and plug it direct to TV
I have 2, 19 inch TV's one Insignia and one Sceptre that are both 12 volt in disguise
  • Best buy, walmart, or any local electronics store, pick the one you like picture quality best on. Check the power brick to see what output power is. If its 12 VDC, simply cut the cord after the brick and wire up a cigarette adapter and plug it in. Now you have a 12 volt tv.
  • You can check on the particular model, but I think newer small TVs use only 20-30 watts. You can use almost any size inverter.
