Tv signal booster?

When I push the button to turn it on a momentary green light flashes one time. Does this indicate that's it's working? I was told that a red light should be on all the time?

Just did a scan for channels. Picked up nothing and there is supposed to be some here?.

  • Found the issue. There is connections under the slide all bundled /taped up in a loom.
    Black connected had pulled apart.
    Fixed!
    Thanks for the help.
  • So, the cable that causes the light to go out has a short. Since it is the antenna coax it's possible the short is at the head or inside the antenna. You need to disconnect the coax from the head of the antenna. If the light now comes on and stays on then you need to replace the antenna head. If the light still does not come on you likely just have a bad connector on one end of the coax (usually outside). Cut the coax back until you see clean shiny center wire and shielding and put on a new F-connector. I suggest using compression fittings which are available at Lowes and Home Depot along with the compression tool. Also, stop by your local auto parts store and pick up some di-electric grease in a small tube. Once you make a new connection outside (not necessary inside) squeeze a bit of grease in that F-connector before screwing it back onto the head. You should be in pretty good shape after that gets done.
  • This might be of interest. It shows what the coax connections are.

  • Thanks for your quick response. There are three cables screwed to it. One red. One black and one white. When I un-attached the black one the green lite came on steady!? Screw it back together and it goes out?
    Now what?

Trailer has two tvs one in bedroom. Booster is other end of trailer in living room.
  • It sounds like the cable has a short in it- the light should stay on, but it has a self resetting circuit breaker in it.
