One comment about waiting for Win 8.1. It really doesn't do much to help with the UI, there is a Start button in 8.1 but all that it does is to take you to the Start screen so it's not much of a change. You can right-click on the Start button and there is a shutdown option so that's a little easier to find then in Win 8.
The number one feature that I look forward to in Win 8.1 is the ability to boot directly to the desktop as opposed to booting to the Start screen although that change only saves me exactly 1 mouse click when booting.
