Using a manual satellite antenna for Direct TV

I am a complete novice on satellite TV, but for the past 6 months we have been CG hosting and spending more time in our rig than our house. That looks like it will continue so I'm thinking about cancelling our cable at home and subscribing to Direct TV.

Our locations will be pretty stable, probably one CG during the winter months and another for the summer so we only need to set up the antenna a couple of times. I'm thinking of a tripod with a dish. I would appreciate comments on how difficult it is to orient the dish properly.

Thanks.
Joe

  • There will be myriad answers as everyone has his or her own way. The 'bottom line' is that SD is easy, HD is hard, at first.
