Well, since I didn't get any responses to this, I have to assume no one has used this product. I've researched Valarm and the sensor provider and this looks like a pretty inexpensive way to monitor pets or anything while away. I've ordered the temp. sensor, found a cheap Samsung galaxy S3 mini on ebay. SO $55 for the hardware and I think $11.00 for the app. I'll have what I hope is a decent way to keep an eye on dogs when away. The app allows sound notifications and can turn on video (nice if they start barking or someone is banging around outside). Not counting the phone and wireless plan ($100 phone, $15 add to plan), every product I've seen requires a phone of some sort to send messages. Will update post when I have everything in and have tested the set-up.
