App is Android only and Phone must be capable of USB OTG (On the Go)to utilize external sensors. Just found out my Galaxy S3 Mini doesn't handle OTG so will try backup Sony Xperia. The Galaxy S3 and other full-size Samsung devices seem to all have OTG.
This seems a lot to go through + Android-only doesn't seem like a selling point.
I opted for a LaCrosse Alerts system -- it can connect to any hotspot, temp/humidity data is accessed via any web browser, and high/low temps, etc notifications can be sent via SMS or email.
For visual/sound monitoring, I use a couple of CloudCams.
