We were getting a 22% discount with Verizon due to my wife working for FedEx - she retired so we were no longer eligible for that discount. We ended up having to change our account from her name to my name so we could use the veterans discount - the end result was that we had to basically close her account and open a new account in my name. I think the contracts on each phone on the account were extended by a year if I recall.
