Home connect is not VIOP. It is a separate cellular service that replaces land line service and works with typical land line phones.
Yes, you would also have to have a Verizon shared data cellular plan which I do have. The way it sounds the home connect would then become an additional phone on that plan. If you did not already have Home connect the cost would be $30 per month. It is advertised as wifi or wired broadband service for multiple devices so it WOULD work with your home PC, Tablet etc.
I will look at Millinecom but I already have the Home Connect and this would just be an add on for me.
