Verizon jet pack , when updates arrive question

Do I have to leave my Verizon jet pack on when... I get ready to shut off computer and discover updates have arrived. Really dislike to do just one more project on computer before off to bed only...

Generally if Windows tells you that Updates need to be installed at shutdown, the updates have already been downloaded. You no longer need your internet connection. So you can turn off the Jetpack.
