Verizon jet pack , when updates arrive question

Do I have to leave my Verizon jet pack on when... I get ready to shut off computer and discover updates have arrived. Really dislike to do just one more project on computer before off to bed only...

I assume the OP talking about Windows updates
But I'm not positive, that is what he means

Anyway I'll never goto Windows Ten
until the update situation is corrected

He'll I'm not even happy with win 8.1
I rather have win 7
