Verizon jet pack , when updates arrive question

Do I have to leave my Verizon jet pack on when... I get ready to shut off computer and discover updates have arrived. Really dislike to do just one more project on computer before off to bed only...

You can set updates to notify but not download
You can then download at time and place of your choosing
