I had to look up the keychain camera. What a great idea! I might have to get one just for fun.

this would probably work well for $50. An 808 Keychain camera would work for even less if you had a laptop or other way to play it back.

Got one in at the Thrift store where I hang out last week.. Do not know if it is still there (We have a few) nice, small, uses a memory card. I do not know remember what price Wanda put on it.

Yes, I just want to record the dogs, and play it back later. We want to check for bad behavior and correct it. We would need sound, though. We need to hear any barking.
We don't intend to leave them very long. Plus, they come with us as we have no tow car. We do have the gen going for air cond.

It doesn't sound like you want to "stream/broadcast" the video, just see what the pups do while you are away. A game camera can be had for about $50 on up - no sound, but it is motion-activated, takes video or still photos, is a free-standing unit not requiring any internet or other connections, plus you can use it for other purposes. Records to an SD card, which you can play back on a computer really easily. ST

Depends on whether you just want to record your dogs activity while you were away, many options available, or be able to live monitor them while you are out? Or both? Most of the Panasonic camcorders have WiFi built in, so can stream video content. But, you will also need WiFi in your RV with sufficient bandwidth allowances.

Note that IP cameras, typically used for security monitoring, are designed for remote monitoring. They have a built-in web server chip. However, even the entry level Panasonic HC-V270 can record and stream to a smartphone/tablet(baby monitor), or over the internet. They're designed to be used with UStream, you can still sign up for a free account, though not sure if there are any time limits. I've only used their enterprise account.

One caveat is that you need to be comfortable at setting up the streaming settings.

As far as using in the rv, I'll be using a corded connection, because wifi is usually so bad in the campgrounds.

Some dash cams record in mp4 or mp4 type format. This might connect to your TV USB input if your television has that capability. It may also require a microSD to USB adapter (not expensive). Some Dash cams have built in wifi. This allows playback on other devices. If your TV has wifi it might be possible? The wifi dash cams can also livestream to a smart device in range. Live usually means 2 second delay.
