Vizio Smart TV

I have a Vizio Smart TV. It is smarter than I am! When trying to set up the internet connection, it asks me to enter my WPA2 passphrase. Can anyone tell me how to find out what that is? Thanks.

I have a MiFi device. I tried using the passcode that is on that and no luck.

I would reset the tv, then go to menu, then netork, then manual. See if you can find the network in manual mode.
  • Update: Thanks, I tried using that number again and this time it worked. Maybe I entered it wrong the first time.
  • The wpa2 pass phrase is what's used to secure the network you're connecting to. An encryption key. When the router was set up a phrase was entered or a default was used. It is different than your password. You may have to login to your router to find out the phrase and then enter it into your tv.

  • Most likely it's your router password if you have a wireless router. The TV is looking for the wireless system you have in your house since that's where most TVs are installed though some people have set them up in their RVs also.

That would be your wifi password.
