We bought one at Walmart. Midland brand for less than $40. Works great. Make sure it says S.A.M.E. technology and maybe has the NOAA logo. I just check Walmart.com and they have a new Midland a bit more expensive $72. WR0300 is the model. Also make sure it has a battery backup in case the power goes out and have extra batteries. We have traveled all over the US and our cheaper Midland radio always gets a signal. You can program for one county or mulitple counties. We leave it on "all" and receive surrounding counties so we can know in plenty of time if a storm is coming. They do have short antennas. Wonder if you can connect a taller outside antenna to it??
