What's everyone using to remove mal ware?

I downloaded malware bytes but they only give you a 'trial' program that expires after a week or two. Does anyone know of any other free malware removal programs that do a good job? I have Kapersky installed but not sure if that does malware removal.
Thanks

  • I use a series of FREE software.

It does not get everything, but it is close and I have no trouble on either my desktop or laptop computers.

    Get the free versions of:

    CCleaner
    Wise Registry Cleaner 8
    Advanced System Care 7
    MalwareBytes

I also put addons in Internet Explorer to keep other sites from tracking my surfing activity.

    Abine DoNotTrackMe
    AbineIE.List.txt
    Stop Google Tracking (from Microsoft)
    Truste

Finally, in Internet Explorer Options, I block sites that I find in MalwareBytes such as Funmoods sites.

Go to this link and click the green square that says "free download". That way you get the standalone free version instead of the 30 day trial for the paid version.
  • Try SUPERAntiSpyware--has worked for me for years. They have a free version but I finally paid out $$'s 2 years ago to get the Pro. verison--also, SpyBot has a free verison--. Using it on Windows 7. Lars

I use three FREEWARE VERSIONS programs here... Been doing this for years now and things run just fine..

    AVG 2014
    Advanced SystemCare 7
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

All three of these programs tries all kinds of tricks to get you to UPGRADE to their paid verions. You have to watch what you click on sometimes haha... They also tell you some things they found could be repaired if you have the PAID VERSION...

I am running full scans about every three days now since Microsoft dropped the XP updates... SO far I am still getting the GOOD SMILEY FACE symbol...

  • Like most of the free programs they try like heck to get you to buy the paid version. Malwarebytes has a "free version", which admittedly has a bit of a fussy update process, but I've used it free for years.

The "trial" they offer is for the "Premium" (i.e.paid) version.
