Son has one similar to that. His is a Extech TG20 Wire Tracer/Tone Generator. Also detects continuity and phone lines. Great tool, not a lot of money-About $22.00 at Amazon Prime. Has saved a lot of time and trouble. Also detects home wiring.
To Bill above: Some of us do not have the skills, know how or brains to solve some of the issues before us. Much easier and saves us frustration and time to have a tool that tells us how to solve a problem. I suspect if the OP had one of those he would know his answer a long time ago.
