You can use a wireless device to send the signal from the receiver to the TV. These can be purchased at most electronics stores or online. Most require AC power. Be sure to explain what you are trying to do to the salesperson so they will hopefully provide the correct device. It actually has two components the transmitter you hook up to the sat receiver and the receiver you hook up to the TV.
To me the easiest solution would be to place a shelf near where you need the receiver to be. Keep in mind the sat receiver doesn't have to lay flat. I keep mine on it's side with a couple of 1 inch blocks under it for air circulation. It works fine in this position.
