Roof mounted leaves you at the disadvantage of camping away from trees on your somewhat southern exposure.
Western arc dish sat.s can vary from coast to coast nearly 70 degrees of southern sky
Thats a huge piece of sky. You got to have a lot more than 'south'
I prefer a portable ( still use a tripod and manual dish + 200' of rg6 cable) as with it we can set up anywhere, regardlesss of trees and lock on.
A big help to aiming a portable is satellite finder apps on your tablet or smart phone to give you an actual view of the sat. 's location above or a hole between the trees.
