- RoyBExplorer IIMowingman - you can real really improve your older BATMAN by adding the ADD-ON Dipoles... Only take a fem minutes to snap in place...
Since the Natlional TV moved to digital High Def TV the frequencies being used are in the high VHF and UHF TV channels... Really adds to the reception getting the add-on dipole kit.
Probably available from AMAZON....
We get very good reception using our BATWING Antenna that looks like the first picture shown above...
I have my BATWING mounted to an easy=-up pole on my POPUP trailer... Works great even in GOBER TX...
Roy Ken - korbeExplorerOur setup process allowed me listen to a sound from the TV that increased in magnitude when signal strength increased while rotating the antenna.
- mowingmanExplorerThanks guys. Mine is like the one on the middle photo. It is currently in our driveway, so I will go out and play around with it, as soon as the A/C unit gets the RV cooled off.
Just got a 30 amp RV outlet installed at the back of the driveway yesterday, so am trying it out today.
Jeff - RoyBExplorer IIIf you have the BATWING with dipoles that looks like this it is pointing the transmitter tower to the right of the photo...
If you have the BATWING without dipoles that looks like this it is pointing to the transmitter tower to the right or left of the photo as shown by the arrows...
If you have the KINGS JACK antenna that looks like this it is pointing to the transmitter tower to the right of the photo

- the_bear_IIExplorerIf it's the kind you can rotate and has an amplifier (switch with red light) I make sure the amplifier is off. raise the antenna and with the TV on I rotate the antenna to get the best signal on the channel I will watch the most. Then I turn on the amplifier and fine tune the antenna to get the best signal on a couple of favorite channels.
If there are other RVs nearby with the TV antennas up try to orient yours in the same direction to start with then fine tune.
The wing tips are perpendicular to the signal coming in.
