Why are GPS units so much trouble.
I bought a Garmin Nuvi 5 or so years ago that worked most of the time,but occasionally went beserk.On our Christmas trip to South Carolina,it routed us one way going south and another way going north....

The Garmin Nuvi maps need to be updated every year if you travel a lot. Mine will route you around traffic that's why you get different directions going north and south, east or west. The big problem it doesn't know I'm pulling a TT so I may end up on a dirt road in the middle of a cow pasture, it's done it before. Now I double check it with my phone if it starts telling to make weird turns.
