I had a 4G Galaxy Nexus with unlimited until I foolishly upgraded my wife's 3G smart phone to a Note 3. That took away my unlimited plan. I didn't worry too much about it. Only meant I had to give up things like Netflix in the RV.
I still had 3 gb shared data, which was fine until I used the GPS feature on a long trip and ate up 5 gb of data in a hurry. I had used the GPS feature before, when I had unlimited data but never realized how much data it ate up. I have since, downloaded GPS Copilot, which does not need to use Verizon connection to work. I do have a free standing Garmin but no free updates, thus the reason for using the Verizon app in the first place. Also just bought a TomTom which I like much better than the Garmin.
