@sdianel: yes storms will affect the signal, but this has been happening for a longer time - the storms aren't it! Anyway, the storms missed us at the campground, but we don't know about our home yet!

@joebedford: I don't recall saying anything about RG9. I think our wires are all RG6 same as in our house - anyway they are all solid copper center standard coax (for dan-nickie).
As I said, we have used this for HD on Dish Network with no problems. I usually can locate the satellites without difficulty. This time my satellite finder (a simple cheapie) just sits there with a low whistle and every few seconds makes a louder sound. No increase or decrease as I turn the dish or move it up or down.
Last night I connected the wire directly to the power inserter from the LNB stub. Today I will try direct from the LNB to the power inserter.
