WiFi Ranger owners--new software update available
The purpose of this post is to inform existing WiFiRanger owners that a major software (firmware) update has just been released to the public. This new software is applicable to all existing products and it:
--Improves overall stability
--Reduces bootup times
--Decreases time required to make a connection
--Adds a variety of new features
A complete information sheet about the software release is located here: WiFiRanger 6.6.2 release
Updating your device's firmware is largely automatic; click on the Check for Updates link at the top right of your WFR's Control Panel screen. After a minute or two the device will report back that an update is available and asks you to click the link again. From there everything else is automatic. If you have never done an update on a WFR device before, there is a link to a YouTube instructional video on the information page referenced above.
If you have a 2-device system (for example a Go + a Mobile, or a Go + a Sky) you should upgrade the Mobile or Sky first then update the Go. This will permit the Go to easily pair with the other device after its update has been completed.
If there are questions about the update process, feel free to post them here or send them to me via PM. You can also, of course, contact WFR Customer Service.
