If you want a stand alone DirecTV HD dish just mount the roof Winegard HD dish on a board and set it clear of the trees. The auto Winegard HD dish does not have to be mounted on the RV roof.
Is this a heavy thing to move around? There is a reason I want an automatic dish. A few years back, our old TV bit the dust so we entered the digital age. Direct TV came out to put up the HD dish and refused due to our home is a floating home on the Columbia River and between spring and end of summer water levels vary as much as 15 to 20 feet. The HD has to focus on three satellites at the same time so we would lose our picture. I want the automatic so I can readjust it when we lose the picture. I will drive to Camping World tomorrow and see how much the antenna weighs and see if it will fit into a compartment. So far, it has been hard to find the straight scoop so that's why I posted here. Thanks everyone and if you have any other ideas, please let me know. Thanks again.
