Win 10 - finding Removable Hard Drive?

Back in the old days with Win 7 I just clicked 'my computer" and the drives popped up.

I got roped into Winn 10 and now have what i think is an embarrassing question.

If i stick a Thumb Drive/SD card out of a camera in the computer slot, how or what do I do to access that drive/card? :S

thanks
  • You can actually place a "This Computer" icon on your desktop like the old "My Computer" icon on earlier versions of Windows.

I just click on the windows ICON in the bottom left corner and select 'THIS PC'

My main screen is setup like WIN7 with small icons down the left side side and a task bar on the bottom. The main screen is a screen saver scenes from my colletcion of DARK NIGHTS...

Everything here looks like my old WIN 7 machine but this one screams speed wise...

  • Most often the SD details will open in a window upon insertion of the SD or USB drive into the computer. If it doesn't come up, click on the file fold icon in the bottom taskbar. The details of your computer files will come up. Click on the drive letter for your SD and you can see and access the files.
