My computer is running Win7 and I have some software and hardware that is Win7 only. All I am getting told is the only option is to upgrade hardware and software to the tune of about $25K!I know about no security upgrades. etc but there has to be something else that can be done so I can continue with Win7. The computer has to be connected to the internet for some functions.Any ideas> What about running it behind a VPN?

$25 K??!! Why the heck so much unless you have some exotic hardware. You can buy a good computer for $2K or much less, and transfer the files and software to the new box from the old one. I resisted Win10 for a long time but finally gave in and find that it runs just about anything Win7 does. There are some exceptions, generally old games and with enough persistence you can get those running. One of your local computer shops can handle the whole thing for you.But for Win7 you can keep on running it until the computer dies, no security updates so get a good antivirus if you go online at all.

Run Win 7 in VirtualBox on Win 10. Works very well.

Our tower was really getting long in the tooth and since no more support for 7 we just bought a new tower. Bought the maintenance plan for $200 and got a totally refurbished laptop. Cost about $700...
