Big changes to report. First, after close study of the boot menus, I found that my two XP machines DO allow boot from USB, but not the liveUSB creator version. But, since liveUSB creator puts a nice .iso file in a folder and I can burn a bootable CD, I have successfully booted both machines w/ Slacko Puppy. I cannot really deal well w/ its tiny inital text and cursor settings...
Better still, I think, I have burned a Zorin 6 lite CD and booted it on the HP - SWEET! It is far more visually accessible AND almost identical to Win XP (press windows key and the Start menu pops up). I installed Firefox and the two addons I need to see it well (NASA Night Launch and Blank Your Monitor), set RV.net as home page, and am posting this from Linux.
I read the puppy forum link and understand the save file option to preserve settings, can you guys offer advice on the best way to do the same idea w/ Zorin?
I have tried to get this to work for over a year, and I see my interest in Zorin was VERY well founded. XP lovers, this may be something you want.
Thanks.
