Windegard digital satellite antenna

I recently acquired a 2000 Holiday Rambler with a Winegard RM4600 dish on the roof. What do I need to use this antenna? A contract with Dish or Direct and their receiver or is this antenna too old to be compatible with the new systems? The rv also has a standard Winegard tv antenna which we have used.
  • Thanks to all, as I suspected. I'll use the regular antenna and dvd player.
  • You will want to be a DirecTV customer if you want to use that antenna. All of the DirecTV SD programming comes from only 1 satellite while Dish uses 3 satellites so you will have issues with the programming. The 4600 has only 1 LNB so can only "see" 1 satellite at a time. There is no upgrade option so if you want more you would need to replace that antenna with either a roof mounted automatic ($$$) or a ground based antenna either portable automatic ($$) or tripod based manual antenna ($).
  • You will need a receiver and contract with which ever company you prefer. If you have satellite at your house, you could use that receiver.
