The other half reminded me that there are 3 more machines to be updated including the MIL's, so I will have to go the hard drive route.
on edit argggg half of the machines are 32 bit, the other half 64 bit. Now I have two updates to download.
I can't use the Verizon 3G, it would take a hour at peak speed. I might be able to stick a micro SD card in the unlimited Cricket phone, that would take under 10 minutes. Near me is a hot Sprint tower that pulls down around 30 Mbps, I could pick up the update while going through a drive through.
I also have any number of stores, restaurants and a library that I can pick up WiFi but is it safe to use public WiFi for it?
The tool will create a 32 and 64 bit on one flash drive, at least 6gb in size. When you run it uncheck the use recommend settings and then you can choose 32+64
I think it's safe to download this over public wifi, the connection to Microsoft is encrypted, and the tool verifies as it downloads to avoid corruption.
