Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Did the Windows 10 Anniversary Update happen yet? It is reported to happen sometime today. If so, is anyone experiencing any difficulties?

Although I run Windows 10, I have my connections set to metered . . . so I can't tell about the update.

Thanks,
Jean
  • Easy install, albeit a little long, one laptop and desk but not really sure what the changes are that are usefull.
  • I have 2 Windows 10 computers. I tried the update on one and it rolled back after encountering an error. On the second computer it went fine although this thing took maybe 1-1.5hrs to download and install.
  • I am on a metered connection also, but I just manually checked for updates and it was reported that I am up to date as of 8/3/16 at 3:21am CDT.

So no update for me this week or am I just too early checking?
  • 8/2/16 3:20EST -- Windows 10, is downloading a "feature update" as I type here.

8/3/16 Edit: Download took a good 45 minutes to complete. Install of the update took about the same amount of time to complete. The update was successful.

  • I checked my personal computers this morning, no update.

Just checked my Windows 10 Enterprise machine at work, it's downloading a "feature update". Looks big as it's coming in slowly.

Not sure if there's another thread about this or not, but if anyone still wants Windows 10 for free, all you need to do is enable an "accessibility feature" like sticky keys, screen reader, etc... and then run the Windows 10 updater, you should qualify for the free upgrade.
  • Anyone know how big it is? I'm on mobile data so I have to know which device to be on.
  • The free upgrade ended on July 29th! If you already have 10 today is suppose to be the day the upgraded new version begins. You can check; I usually find it about noon later!

I deferred the upgrade as I have Win/10 Pro!! Want to wait to see what CNet.com Ed Bott says about the quirks and changes!
