Question... How many of us could do everything we do today with Windows 98 & Office 97 (assuming the software was stable)? Yeah, there might be a few little nice-to-have features here & there, but the bulk of what I could do then - email, web, spreadsheets, docs, etc - hasn't changed. That is MSFT's biggest problem - how to get money out of people when they don't really
need the changes. Users do not want to invest the time & energy to learn a new GUI when they already know how to get the job done in the old GUI.
I avoided Vista, 8.0, & 8.1. I am afraid MSFT will force me in to Win10 for my primary workstation. Although my recent Mac & Linux usage has picked up, so maybe that will be an option...I dunno...
