Not true. MSFT for months prior to the rollout of win10 secretly installed bits of win10 onto win7 and 8.1 computers, to make the upgrade "easier". These bits were disguised as updates.
Users who reported upgrading without realizing it had already downloaded the entire win10 program onto their machines via "automatic updates." A single careless click enbled the install.
Again, I don't think that's MSFT's goal here. Rather, now that they've brought win10 users to heel they want to do the same with the win7 and win8 holdouts. Everybody ought to like vanilla!
