Well, going out into real automobile traffic can screw YOU up, but I bet you still go out in your car. I have been going out in Internet traffic since it became available and what problems I have had are minimal and the benefits have been large.
But you should do what you are comfortable with.
Didn't mean I don't use the web - obviously, I do, I'm here. I have a work PC and a general PC ... the work PC never goes online because it stores all my work. And, yes, it's backed-up as well.
My comment was simply stating the web traffic is generally what causes PC to act-up not something inherent in PC's, altho plenty of "counter-measures" out there, it all costs extra to install (usually) ...
