Not true. MSFT for months prior to the rollout of win10 secretly installed bits of win10 onto win7 and 8.1 computers, to make the upgrade "easier". These bits were disguised as updates...
Correct ! PCWorld compiled a list of "update files" that were delivered to us end users via the Windows Update program. That list included 17 different files at the time I printed out the list. Since that time I have found 3 more that were Win 10 upgrade files. Whenever I get the windows update message, I check each file to the list and have always had at least one and usually two of the Win 10 upgrade files in the download. I unclick them and select hide. I just had one of these Win 10 files off the list appear in the latest Windows Update two days ago - two weeks after the alleged "free upgrade" offer had expired. So despite another member here telling me to relax, I think I will still check each update for these files.
