I shut down my computer every night. When it has updates it does them at this time. The next time I start up the computer the updates complete. I never did anything differently. Did not,nor would I ever, interrupt the updates by forcing a shutdown. Don't know what I said that lead MNtundraRet to think that.
When I rolled back the updates my IE was ok, but I was wrong about the Google Chrome. Chrome didn't work. I uninstalled Chrome and plan to reinstall today. Should fix the problem.
By the way, the updates reinstalled last night but IE is still OK.
