I have no interest in a touchscreen desktop or even a laptop. I do not wish to reach across my office desk to touch the screen. Not to mention the screen needs to be cleaned constantly. Touchscreens are fine for tablets or tablet PC's but they are not suitable for desktops or many laptops.
Windows 8 is horrible. The Metro screen serves no practical purpose for me and uses system resources that are better used elsewhere. I've also found numerous older programs that fail under Windows 8 but work fine under 7 although some require XP. Microsoft is does not feel compatibility is important. New gizmos and bling are.
