Amp is in the head, needs 12v as provided by the wall plate, and yes they are easily replaced with only two pins. Check voltage on coax at the antenna head. moisture somes causes the inside conductor of coax to croode and breat at the connectors. While checking, might check the model numbr on the batwing, just to make sure what model it is.
