Differences between X1 and X2.
Both use Dish Mobile Protocol and require no separate 12V power source. Connect the receiver to the antenna with coax only.
Both can connect to 1 or 2 receivers.
Both can be used with the Winegard ground tripod (or not).
Both antennas can be purchased separately or as a bundle with a 211Z receiver. The receiver bundle adds only $50 to cost.
X2 has larger antenna will provide higher signal strength.
Due to the larger antenna, the antenna is a bit larger than most portables. 21" wide and 15" tall (stowed).
X2 can receive programming from both Eastern Arc and Western Arc.
X2 is portable only and cannot be roof mounted or used with a ladder rack.
X2 used with 2 receivers can be set to receive 72.7 only and both receivers can watch any programming (no Networks available on 72.7). Can also select to use EA or WA and second receiver must view programming from same satellite (Networks available).
X1 is portable or roof mounted (add roof kit ~$50).
X1 can receive programming from Western Arc only
X1 is VERY small at just over 14" wide and 14" tall
X1 used with 2 receivers, second receiver must watch programming broadcast from primary satellite.
X1 costs about $50 more than X2.
Hope I got them all.
Edit: Spelling.
