If you use Directv with this sat, did you need to use a B-Band converter? Thanks

No. B-Band Converters are only necessary for the reception of HD programming on an older DirecTV system. The dome style antennas cannot receive any HD programming from DirecTV.
You will need to change the settings in the receiver to 18" round antenna and mulitswitch (not SWM).
