We had a Tailgater, and sometimes got frustrated trying to get a good signal - especially when we were in upstate New York. Got an X2, and there is a world of difference - it has a much larger antenna that, when placed side by side with the Tailgater, pulls in a signal double in strength. As mentioned above, it also can get the southeast satellites as well as the southwest satellites which gives you a choice when there are a lot of trees or other obstructions around, and are also higher off the horizon when you are up in the northeast ... Worth the extra $100 in our opinion ....
