More than likely the cable in will not work. This has been discussed at length so here is a quick summary. Splitters, poor connections, and wrong cable types are not very conducive to watching satellite TV. To do it right you really need to run a dedicated coax cable from a convenient location to the necessary location for the sat receiver.
Now, you can buy decent antenna packages for around $150.00 from several online retailers that will work fine. Or there are several portable automatic dishes that Winegard sells for a lot more money.
Pick up a receiver, connect it to your TV and antenna via the correct cabling call the satellite provider and set up an account. Sit back and watch your favorite programming.
