winegaurd travlr

The Trav'ler is required to receive the DirecTV HDTV programming and it would need to firmly mounted to a roof with about 3' of clearance around the entire mount. If you are a Dish customer you could install the Winegard Mission and get HD or you could install the Mission (or the Roadtrip Dura-Sat built specifically for the rigors of a truckers) and receive all of the DirecTV programming but without the HD programming.
The Trav'ler is not portable and the ladder rack is not an option. It's pretty big and weighs about 40 pounds.

yea iv'e seen it. it looks heavy but I didn't think it was that heavy. I have to mount it on the ladder on the back of my semi truck because of the darn air deflector on the roof http://www.winegard.com/images/travlerWeb.jpg

What are you wanting to mount it on?
On my second "Taveler", would not go back to the "carry out"! Or the cube!
On fivers, for some reason the mfg does not like to mount them on the front!
That is where they belong! Most spaces are not as over grown on the front of a backin.
We just as for open to the S.W. So we can get the sat?

It is heavy, the antenna is large and needs a lot of room to rotate as it searches for a signal. thanks don that's what i'm gonna do i'm looking at domes now as the unit has to go on the back of a semi :C
