Wingman on Sensar...No Joy!!!

Turn the antenna a little and crank it down. Have to remove the dicor and rotate the base a little then reinstall the screws and reseal.

You have to rotate it quite a bit to clear the little landing ears that secures it when down. Rather than move the base, I think I'm going to fabricate another aluminum landing restraint to let the antenna "park" a bit more to the left.

What do you think about this idea?

Cut that element. The difference in performance is imperceptable.

Had same problem with my TT, except it was the air conditioning cowl. Couldn't use it and had to return it.

I went from 32 channels to 62 channels. Many were duplicates but at least 7 were new channels I couldn't receive without the wingman. These 7 channels were very high in the UHF band where the Sensar simply doesn't perform well.

The Wingman I put on last month was reversible. 2 sets of holes for an inboard or outboard install. I have mine pointed inboard.

I looked into this. But as you can see by the photograph, the mount on the opposite side of the antenna would be in the way.

When I bought my RV it had a Batwing that was not working, I cleaned up all connections and tested to see if it was broken, it was,so I replaced it with a new bat wing then ran a Channel Scan I was not impressed with the amount of channels that I got. This was done in my driveway here in the south bay of So Calif using my SensarPro.

I then went out and got a Wingman add on, that put my channel scan up to 47,but I had a clearance problem with the Wingman

So I opted to put a Jack on and my channel scan went up to 60

I then went with the Rayzar as you can see it fits in the same space.
I opted not to put it on the supplied 13 In. arm. I kept one arm of the Winegard mast and mounted it that way,there are instructions in the kit,it is very easy to do. This way I had it in the same space and got the maximum height when deployed.

The Bi-Directional feature is great and easier to use than the Jack and I get a few more stations.

Cut off the offending element or bend the arm a little. It will still grab signal.

Next get the Sensar Pro amp with signal peaking meter so you can fine tune the direction. Makes a huge difference.

As Jeff has said, and I did on my previous antenna, you could saw off the last small element just past the middle small element. Make sure that that one would clear the vent to allow full lowering of the antenna.

There is no wiring in the antenna so cutting off the antenna will not hurt anything and you will most likely get the stations you got with the whole antenna.
